- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials through Firebase Authentication.
- Google Calendar Data: With your permission, we access your Google Calendar to read event details including event times, titles, and locations to help you create travel alerts. We only request read-only access and do not modify your calendar.
- Location Preferences: Addresses and locations you save for route planning.
- Schedule Information: Appointment times and preparation preferences you enter.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, including features used and app performance data.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens (FCM tokens) necessary to send you travel alert notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide and maintain our route planning and notification services
- Read your Google Calendar events to help you create travel alerts
- Calculate accurate travel times to your destinations using Google Maps
- Send timely push notifications about when to leave
- Improve app functionality and user experience
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
3.1 Service Providers
- Google Maps API: We use Google Maps to calculate routes and travel times
- Firebase: We use Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, and analytics

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Your data is stored securely using Firebase Cloud Firestore with industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

- Calendar Permissions: Revoke Google Calendar access in your Google Account settings
- Notification Settings: Manage notification preferences within the app or device settings
6. Account and Data Deletion
6.1 How to Request Account Deletion
If you wish to delete your Path Engine account and associated data, please follow these steps:
- Send an email to mkinnander@bteamsoftware.com
- Use the subject line: "Path Engine Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your Path Engine account
- We will process your request and send you a confirmation email within 3 business days
6.2 What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently deleted:
- Your email address and authentication credentials
- All travel alerts you have created
- All saved alert templates
- Your location preferences and saved addresses
- Your schedule information and preparation preferences
- Push notification tokens (FCM tokens)
- Google Calendar access tokens
- All user-generated content associated with your account
6.3 Data Retention After Deletion
Your account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your deletion request. We may retain certain information only if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as:
- Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics that cannot identify you
- Information required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes
- Backup copies in our systems, which are automatically purged within 90 days
After deletion, your data cannot be recovered.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not request account deletion, we will retain your data as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you services.
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
